Social Media Manager

Cityscope is looking to help promote active citizenship in tier 2/3 towns and shorten information gaps. We are looking at self-driven individuals who will assist the content team to organize and distribute content across various social platforms and maintain relationships with various stakeholders by engaging through data-driven insights and marketing collaterals. You will get to work with a quirky team in a highly collaborative work environment. You will get to make a deep impact at a game-changing media company. The ideal candidate is a hard-working team player who will play a critical role in creating original digital content across various social media platforms.

You will help develop and implement social media strategies to build our social communities and establish and maintain the brand’s presence online.

Key roles & responsibilities

  • Work with creative and strategic teams in the conceptualization and creation of original and dynamic content
  • Ability to design and create content is a big big plus
  • Schedule content and maintain social media calendar
  • Keeping a lookout for social media trends we can participate in
  • Help curate and schedule the newsletter (Experience with Mailchimp is an additional advantage)
  • Monitor social trends and proactively highlight opportunities for growth and engagement
  • Partner with the content team to build, execute and maintain player messaging, content engagement strategies and campaigns on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube
  • Build the analytics framework and help understand various engagement metrics
  • Help to oversee the approval process for all campaigns, initiatives and assets
  • Regular reporting to wider organization on current community trends, sentiment, and channel performance
  • Work to ensure consistent and impactful campaign execution

Create compelling and innovative narratives and campaign messaging across digital media, video, mobile, and audio platforms that connect brands to customers in collaboration with creative directors.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 1-3 years of experience in a community management or social media coordination role, preferably within the media, news and content creation industry
  • Ability to create short videos, gifs and other social media content is a big plus
  • Experience with social media management tools
  • Understanding the audience - platform - content fit
  • Should know how to develop social media strategy
  • Should know how to run FB & Insta Ads and Work on Media budget for Media spends
  • You understand the holistic and dynamic landscape of social media channels, strategies, emerging platforms, and audiences.
  • Independent creation and successful execution of community-focused marketing campaigns with one or more specific business goals (growth, engagement, retention, reactivation, revenue)
  • Experience building brands on social media [Instagram, Facebook and Twitter (YouTube experience considered an asset, but not mandatory)] with a proven track record
  • Experience in moderating community discussions with large active communities, including creation of style guides, tone, response strategies
  • Effective time management and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A passion for digital media and information dispersal
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Media/communications and any digital media related field is a plus
